Bombing and shelling of towns and cities is having a devastating and deadly impact on civilians. Article 36 coordinates the International Network on Explosive Weapons (INEW), and are advocating for states to develop stronger international standards, including restrictions on the use of explosive weapons in populated areas and to work for the full realisation of rights of victims and survivors.

Countries are currently negotiating a political declaration as a first step in this area, which Article 36 is feeding into through our partnerships and networks.
